Aiming to the stars by krapnek Aiming to the stars by krapnek
Murder on the dancefloor.

:comic:I took photos for the band called Scenic Beauty.
This one (or a version alike this one) will end up on their album's cover.
The singer is Jonas Aaltio.
The man with Beretta is ~enfermero, the drummer of the band.

Enjoy my intelligent wordplay on the title.

hmm, great idea, but I'm not really convinced by the execution. The idea of creating depth with the hand is good, but there is no visible perspective distortion on the gun, so it doesn't look liek it's angled at the singer (if that was the idea)
The postwork in PS looks very sloppy, at least that is what I think, or where do the rough borders come from?

You know I love your art, but I'll be honest, this one requires more work before it's presentable on an album cover...

It's always such a pleasure get your honest feedback, and as I took a closer look to my work with your words, I really found it quite sloppy too. I'm working on the depth of the gun right now, the perspective is really rubbish as you mentioned.
The only thing I must defend is the intentional roughness of the silhouettes - the band agreeded with me that it's better with the roughness, it sort of reflects the brutality of the whole situation.
Thanks for pointing out the flaws, now I can improve this piece. :)

I see what you mean about the roughness. How about even accentuating it? I think you could use a combo of add grain and movement blurr or other fiilters to roughen the edges to a more visible and clearly intentional extend. But that depends on how far you want to go into manipulation on this one.

This is fantastic. My only criticism would be that the gun/hand is slightly too large... and shouldn't the title be 'aiming FOR the stars'? Keep it up!

I tried to get some depth of field to the picture with the large hand, but it seems I failed :D
I should work on this and the title, thanks for the advice. :)
